Talk with Christopher Buxton

In January, earlier this year we hosted a discussion with the Nigerian Londoner Alex Oma Paios, who shared his memories from studying in Sofia during the 1980s. This discussion inspired our new initiative for hosting events aimed at Bulgarians and Londoners, which we decided to call ''Lifelong Friends of Bulgaria''.

We now invite you to our upcoming event with Christopher Buxton, who was an English teacher in the Bourgas specialised languages high school during the 1970s. Today, Christopher is the author of several novels, in which he entangles both British and Bulgarian history. Christopher also translates from Bulgarian to English, and recently published a poetry book with translations of some of the most well-known Bulgarian poems.

Hosts of this talk: Borimir Totev - Programme Coordinator at Pushkin House, and Boyko Boev - author of the website www.bulgariansinlondon.com and Chair of the London Bulgarian Association.

You will have the opportunity to taste wonderful homemade loaves of bread by Adrian Apostolov, parcelled with Bulgarian spices and honey.

This event is free, but we encourage everyone to support this ongoing initiative by making a charitable donation.
